Editor’s Note
A huge caveat to the Copper pass: it’s only $20 dollars cheaper than the Ikon Base Pass, which also grants you unlimited access to Copper — in addition to several other resorts on the I-70 corridor in Colorado.
There are still reasons to buy the Copper-specific pass, for example: if you have a child and want to take advantage of the under 15 pass that’s included. Copper’s pass also includes limited access to Monarch and Taos. Monarch is not on the Ikon base pass. Access to Taos is restricted around busy holiday and vacation weekends.
Make sure if you’re buying Copper’s season pass, you’re aware of these differences.
Correction: an earlier version of the article mistakenly stated Taos was not available on the Ikon base pass. Taos IS available for a limited number of days, with blackout restrictions.
