GEORGETOWN, CO — May 25th, 2022

Loveland Ski area has announced it will be replacing the old Lift 6. In its place, will be a new fixed-grip triple from Leitner-Poma. Work is set to take place over the summer.

Now: the old chairs are going up for grabs.

Loveland says that due to high demand: the chairs will be sold through a lottery, only open to season pass holders. If you had a 21/22 season pass, or purchase a 22/23 season pass, you are eligible to enter.

If you win, the price to buy is $650. For each chair sold, Loveland says $25 will be donated to Alpine Search and Rescue, and another $25 will go to the National Forest Foundation.

Contest rules:

  • Registration is now open, closing on Tuesday, May 31st

  • Lottery winners can’t transfer their chair to other season pass holders

  • Only one entry is allowed per passholder. If multiple seasons pass holders are in the same household: all can enter, but there can only be one winner per household

  • Winners will be notified by June 2nd

  • Cash and credit cards will be accepted

  • Sales are final

  • Pickup must be between June 6th and June 16th, Monday-Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Winners must present a photo ID or season pass

  • Chairs will be sold in random number order — no requests

  • You must transport your own chair — which will require a truck or trailer, and at least two people to load it. Loveland will not help you load your chair, or offer tie-downs or straps

  • Chairs weigh 125 lbs., and are 113’ Long x 45’ Wide x 25” Deep
