Loveland to Replace Chair 6, Sell Old Chairs
Here's how you can get your hands on one:
GEORGETOWN, CO — May 25th, 2022
Loveland Ski area has announced it will be replacing the old Lift 6. In its place, will be a new fixed-grip triple from Leitner-Poma. Work is set to take place over the summer.
Now: the old chairs are going up for grabs.
Loveland says that due to high demand: the chairs will be sold through a lottery, only open to season pass holders. If you had a 21/22 season pass, or purchase a 22/23 season pass, you are eligible to enter.
If you win, the price to buy is $650. For each chair sold, Loveland says $25 will be donated to Alpine Search and Rescue, and another $25 will go to the National Forest Foundation.
Contest rules:
Registration is now open, closing on Tuesday, May 31st
Lottery winners can’t transfer their chair to other season pass holders
Only one entry is allowed per passholder. If multiple seasons pass holders are in the same household: all can enter, but there can only be one winner per household
Winners will be notified by June 2nd
Cash and credit cards will be accepted
Sales are final
Pickup must be between June 6th and June 16th, Monday-Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Winners must present a photo ID or season pass
Chairs will be sold in random number order — no requests
You must transport your own chair — which will require a truck or trailer, and at least two people to load it. Loveland will not help you load your chair, or offer tie-downs or straps
Chairs weigh 125 lbs., and are 113’ Long x 45’ Wide x 25” Deep
