COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — April 23, 2022

If you’d like to drive up to the summit of Pikes Peak and park in the top lot, you will need an online reservation.

  • The system goes live on May 1st and can be found here

  • Reservations are required from May 27th — September 30th

  • These reservations will be for 2-hour windows

  • Reservations can be made up to one month in advance

According to local tourism officials: more visitors are coming to the summit and staying for longer than they have in the past, causing crowding at the summit.

A shuttle option — similar to the pilot program tested at Quandary Peak last season — will also be available. Visitors with no reservation can drive as far as Devils Playground. This is located at mile 16 along the 19-mile highway to the summit. From here, the free shuttle will bring them the rest of the way. This option will only be available during June and July.

This is the latest in a line of popular Colorado attractions to impose parking restrictions or reservations in an attempt to control crowding.
