It doesn’t have to be in the outdoors either; I just want to hear about a place where you can really drink in the scenery. If you happen to have a picture you’d like to share, I’d love to see it!
You can email me, either by replying directly to this email, or by reaching out to colenobleclimbs@gmail.com. I’ll try to share some of these with the whole group next week!

Definitely Diamond Head in Hawaii. I wasn't climbing mountains back then, but you can get high enough to get a fantastic view just by hiking some trails.
I used to live on top of a hill in San Francisco. I’d just moved there from across the country, after planning and saving up for five years. It had the most incredible view of the city, and the bay just beyond it. Waking up and coming home to that view always brightened my mood. It was beautiful, for starters. But it was also a constant reminder of how far I’d come, how my dream had finally come true. Plus, it was a great place to watch fireworks (I loved seeing the ones that went off at the ballpark whenever the Giants won).
The picture, alas, really doesn’t do it justice. Kind of like when you see the Golden Gate Bridge, or the Taj Mahal, in person and are awestruck and how much more majestic it is than from just seeing it on the internet. But you get the idea.
I was doing a university project about some of the dark sky preservation work that’s been done in Westcliffe, a little town in southwestern Colorado. I was heading out to hopefully get some good astrophotography and see how the town had done a bunch of their lighting, and the moment when I drove over the last hill of the Wet Mountains on 96 and saw the massive *wall* of the Sangre de Cristo peaks rising from the valley… absolutely awe-inspiring, I think I was just wordlessly yelling in my car. Haha. Haven’t managed yet to take a photo that does it justice, but maybe someday.
I'd love to see some of your other astrophatography work though; I just got a new camera lens for it and I've been dying for a crisp clear night to try it out! Maybe soon...

I would love to see the views from there some day!

That's incredible! Thank you for sharing! I agree. There's an element to these views that just doesn't translate in photography unfortunately
I would add a picture to this, but your view and mine are the same.
That was truly a breathtaking hike...
Kenia Peninsula Alaska . A little spot called Arrow Rock.
Love the name! Do you happen to have any pictures?
Yes but I can figure out how to post in this thread .

Ah thank you! I’m hoping to get back to it this summer, and stoked for you that you’re trying it out! Good luck!
I lived in the South West of France for 4 years and had a couple of nice hikes in the Pyrénées and Alps.
I will send you a couple of pics by email.
Please do! I'd love to share them. I imagine the Alps were absolutely awe-inspiring!
