This is great, Cole. I adhere to a highly specific diet (very high protein, medium fat, low carb) that fits my workout regimen and body type. But everybody has different needs based on their types. Excellent work!

Absolutely! I too am a huge fan of the high protein diet. I think the issue on hiking becomes how you can actually transport that much protein.

I generally try and have multi-grain bread, eggs, and meat when trekking. Snickers are my guilty pleasure.

But of course, I trek mostly in Nepal, where there's the luxury of teahouses.

Nepal sounds gorgeous. I want to see it myself some day. I understand that sometimes Candy bars become a necessary complement of meeting caloric requirements. I spoke about this with Jim Davidson on the trail talk podcast. He was trapped on Everest during the 2015 gorka quake.

Virtually impossible to eat right on the Mtn for that long. Many hikers come back short pounds of muscle

Oh, yes! I lost 6kgs after doing Three Passes + Everest Base Camp—in 16 days. Enjoyed every second of it, though :D
