I always tell kiddos “never get separated from your water or bear spray”. It is easy to have other kids carry your water for you if you are tired and don’t want to – but don’t ever do it. You never know when you’re going to get separated. This fall, we had 2 college students get attacked by a grizzly—-and they were separated from their friends that had the bear spray.

That’s awful to hear about the Grizzly... but great advice. You need to be personally carrying all the items you depend on for survival
