I still look to the old school ways we watched for rain... the underside of leaves showing, red skies at morning and I too miss the mispronounced weather radio warnings. Recently someone mentioned they had booked a beach rental and there were thunderstorms in the forecast. She wondered how she would know when it was safe to be on the beach and when to leave. I began my advice with, “If you are close enough to hear the thunder, you are close enough to be struck by light TEN ing.”

Thanks for the look back.
