I love this... I share your childhood attraction to Mile Rock. When trying to imagine what you would reflect on, it occurred to me that while I spent my childhood being drawn to the rock, I spent most of my adult life taking great care to avoid it. We even dropped a buoy alongside it to help identify the spot so we wouldn’t hit it with a boat. Interesting turn around.
