I love this guide! I couldn't agree more on the daypack recommendation. My Osprey daypack is one of the best purchases I've ever made and is a massive improvement over the drawstring bad I was using previously.
Do not dry your expensive clothing in the dryer. Or, dry it on the lowest heat setting. Every time. Heat is the first thing to destroy the coating on performance fabric. If it’s prone to stinking, then dry it in the sun. Dry it as soon as you can rather than let it sit damp in a hamper. Bacteria don’t multiply in dry fabric. I purchase better clothing and take care of it so that it lasts longer—protecting my investment.
Cole man our team at www.shaggyoutdoors.com cannot get outdoors without our coffee and our fly fishing rods. There was great information and I agree with Jennifer M also on the Osprey daypack. I've had my Osprey packs for over 10 years and they still have life left in them.

Thank you for sharing your tips.
Excellent article, Cole! I hope to return to my "mild" hiking soon after my broken leg is mended...
